RUIDO A CIEGAS
VOL. I CCDRadio
THE RADIO SHOW
Audition Records has a new program of radio after CCDRadio,
Centro de Cultura Digital have invited us to join their cultural agenda. >>>
Season 1 was premiered on August 13 and concluded on November 19, 2014, and we are preparing already the next two seasons for 2015.
Mainly all the programs have brief interviews in spanish - we're located in Mexico City -, with the exception of some transmissions we invite international artists. The program is composed by two solo performances and a blind date. Only one artist is
announced, and normally we have a surprise guest is presented during the live transmission.
Another important detail is we are focusing on young musicians, to portray the expanded scene happening in Mexico City nowadays, even if they are not improvisers or artists related to experimental scene;
and for the unannounced artists, we are inviting more experienced and established improvisers, to enrich the experiment through these Blind Dates of Noise and Improvisation.
IMPORTANT: The complete radio shows including the interviews are available in the links listed below - next to the name of each artist - and labeled as RUIDO A CIEGAS 01, RUIDO A CIEGAS 02...

"Camille Mandoki (Los Angeles California, 1991) has devoted much of her life to feel. And her voice, no doubt, is one of the greatest privileges that a young artist
might possess. It is also obvious that Camille Mandoki think, process, explains, questions and run before singing or playing the piano. Her music, moods, rather, are emotions that overflow with
eerie calm that drowns and immersed in oneself."

13. GUDINNI CORTINA [ excerpt ] | RUIDO A CIEGAS 05
(MX 1968) "The practice of Gudinni Cortina attempts to cross an uncertain space without succumbing to it. As an improviser he works directly with the sound matter through an extended mixer board,
contact microphones, disused hard drives, and a pocket trumpet. Combining those elements to generate sound that depends largely on chance an on the construction in the moment, from accidents and certain
acoustic phenomena like feedback."
His aesthetic approach looks for that vulnerable moment in which nothing is determined beforehand, “becoming fragile” in order to respond to the conditions that music creates.
This sonic wager plays with the dimensions where sound occurs: taking a tiny sound density in order to dilute it through the details."
