Having played together in different free jazz/impro settings, we started Vocuhila in 2009 to focus on the use of melodic and rythmic motives - which go from rough, free-timed to more clear and timed riffs and calls - around which we develop the collective improvisation, trying to keep tension between repetitive or clear lines and an incisive, dense flow.

 

Vocuhila recently have been touring as trio with J.J. Goichon on double bass (2011). Hope to have fresh and new music from them soon as trio!
